Goodbye Joomla, hello WordPress
And once again, I have changed the platform under my personal site. Why? Like we say in Holland: "Gewoon, omdat het kan" ("Just because it can be done") :)

It's now official (by word of the Eelke Committee of Approval), Internet Explorer 6 is evil. My advice if you want to see this site as it's intended? Upgrade your IE6 to 7, which at least tries to behave nicely (it has issues all of its own, of course...). Or better yet, why not try Firefox?
Welcome to my new and improved site! What, you don't see anything different? Great, because you shouldn't, not at first glance, anyway.
Fact of the matter is, I've made an effort to make my new site look as much like the old one as possible, because there was nothing at all wrong with the way it looked.
The pictures section has been away from my site for a long time. I've been planning to put it back when I have converted my site to Joomla! and have been looking around for possible solutions. Now I'm happy to say it's back... kind of.
It has been a long time since the last update, as usual. I have been extremely busy. Demelza asked me to develop a site for her to get some professional presence on the web. It's coming together nicely, but between my job and the day to day work at the Mini Seven Club site I have very little time left for some development work. Something else that has been bothering me are spam comments on this very blog, so I switched off commenting completely.
Apparantly, I was too optimistic in the comment to the first post about spam. Spam has continued to trickle in daily, although it does seem levels have come down.
It seems BBblog doesn't make it impoossible to enter comments when comments are turned off for a post, because I do see comments coming in for posts that have them turned off. They even usually don't require approval, which is actually quite odd.
After my IEEE address has seized funcitoning (finally), my anti-spam regime is finally paying off. I don't get any spam! And should spam start arriving on any of the aliases I have left around the Internet, I'll know who's been naughty, and I can cut them off at the click of a button.
After having been unavailable for more than a month, the picture section is available again. I have finally sorted out the trouble with my home server. As an added bonus, my home server is now more silent than ever.
I am having some trouble with the site. My server at home, which basically hosts the entire picture section, is refusing to load the web server software after I had to reboot the machine last weekend (faulty fan was driving me nuts and I was worried it was the disk). Therefor, the pictures are temporarily unavailable. Hopefully I can fix this soon.
It's almost two weeks ago, but I finally found some time to put the pictures of this yearly Mini event on the site. Visit the picture section and have a look. Pictures of the Shakespeare Mini on Broadway and the International Mini Meeting are coming up.
